Research Abstract |
We developed two types of new extracapillary blood flow type membrane oxygenator which is available for a part of cardiopulmonary bypass circuit. One is acylindrica-Y type oxygenator (280mm in housing length, 48mm in housing diameter, 1.67m^2 in gas exchange membrane surface area) using new microporous polypropylene hollow fiber (internal diameter : 320 micrometer, thickness : 55 micrometer, porosity : 70%). The gas exchange performance is shown in table 1. The other 1/2s box type oxygenator(178mm in length, 92mm in width, 32mm in depth, 1.54m in gas exchange membrane surface area). The gas exchange performance shown in table 2 is sufficient.
