Research Abstract |
This research is the mate selection in mode the deficiency in rural society. The deficiency of a bride is a serious problem of rural society in Japan. I grasped of a bride in relation to the industrialization of Japan. I have the next hypothesis in industrialization ; urbanization, the open system of social stratification, urbanism of a life style, a difference among the community, a differences among the attraction of a community. I understand that the trend of these industrialization cause the deficiency of a bride in Japanese rural society. Another problem in mate selection is homogamy or heterogamy. I took up residential propinquity, occupation, age in homogamy hypothesis. There is a gap among the old generation and young generation. A industrialization have a different impact among the generations. In the result of research, the young generation like the upward mobility in occupation, a high aspiration in education, urban society, the urbanization of a life style. Especially, in the social stratification of occupation, the occupational evaluation of agriculture is low in the young generation. These bring about the deficiency of a bride in modern rural society.
