Research Abstract |
The results obtained in the study are summarized below : 1. A simplified method is proposed for predicting probable liquefaction-induced settlements in saturated sand deposits during earthquake. Comparison of the calculated settlements using these equations with actual field observations during previous earthquake in Japan indicates that the proposed method can be useful in assessing the potential damage which may be expected at any given site during earthquakes. 2. The system based on VISMS is applied to Izu road network after the past earthquake. It seems that the system gives an optimum information of restoration for the damaged road network. 3. We presented new soft systems approach to the urgency road network improvement planning based on the index during earthquake. The soft system could activate human intuitive judgment to evaluate serviceability of component roads by supporting system called VISMS. 4. The conventional calculation method of road network reliability using Boolean Algebra is impractical for large system because the path sets and cut sets include a large number of elements. Two approximate calculation methods which evaluate road network reliability and presented. The approximate methods are applied to small size networks in order to compare with the conventional method. 5. Collapse of bridge due to earthquake have great influence on restoration time of the damaged road network. We present a new restoration sulloring system for brides using Expert Systems (Daisougen Presented by A. I. Co. Ltd.).
