1. Tsuyama region and Katsuyama region of Okayama pref. Are still more developing as a forestry production center under the domestic timber depression after 1980. There are many reasons. The first is to begin high quality standardized lumber and dry lumber production by copying the experience of Tono production center of Gifu pref. The others are not only thus new production had spread each sawmills, but also whole member of the region had systematizely engrossed in new business, by collecting material logs from wide area and supporting with informations of lumber auction market and log auction market in Katsuyama region. Therefore market infomations are returned back to sawmill, logging business and forest management. In short, regional forestry systematization are encouraged by information, rationalization of timber distribution and raising of added values under the initiatives of these auction markets. 2. The two movement that are timber production center formation and forestry systematization are promoted harmony with the reality. This promotion is largely dependent on and supported by the lumber auction markets that stand at hillside production center rarely in Japan. 3. In the developing process of timber production center, the regional forest resources were exhausted. But the successional resources are rapidly preparated quantitatively and qualitatively. The silviculture technique and silviculture systematization that are certainly reflected market informations are rapidly improved. Therefore these regions have possibilities to be large synthetic production centers, that are both log production and sawn wood production, with systematization of all process of forestry--from nursing seedling, silviculture system, logging, lumbering and to production marketing.
