Research Abstract |
Head investigator belongs to the faculty of education ( teacher training faculty ). The curriculum for teacher training course is included broad academic fields, so students in our faculty must select many courses. The chemistry should be taught as a set of lectures, exercises, and experiments at any level. They could master it only when they have gone through many chemical experiences, therefore they must be given chemical experiments as many as possible, even if by CAI. Students wonder first at the color changes depend on ionic reactions at chemical experiments and then begin to have some interest in chemistry. In recent years, CAI has been adopted in chemical education, but real colors for chemical substances can't be reproduced the because kinds of color displayed on CRT are few. We aimed therefore, how to reproduce the real colors for chemical teaching materials in CAI education. We got the following results and so on ; (1) " Display for real color of chemical substances ", J. Asso. PC for Chemists, (2), 75 (1989) (2) " Display for real color of precipitates at inorganic qualitative analysis by micro-computer ", J. Asso. PC for Chemists, 12(1), 11 (1990) (3) " Display for real color changes of pH indicators by micro-computer ", Chem. Education, 38(3), 338 (1990). These above results could have really contributed to teaching chemical experiments of teacher training course of Saitama university. Students in our faculty have favorably evaluated these CAI systems. Now, the aim of this research could have been considered to be attained in teaching chemical experiments by CAI systems.
