Research Abstract

1.Alー(Fe、Ru、Os)ーCu合金において新しい準結晶安定相が発見された。この準結晶相は従来の準結晶に比較して良質で長距離の相関をもつ準結晶として世界中で注目を集めている。また、この準結晶は6次元空間の面心超立方格子で説明できる新しいタイプの準結晶であることが明らかにされた。
2.超急冷したAlーRuーCu準結晶において規則格子反射(面心超立方格子で解釈される)が消滅し、高温で熱処理することにより規則格子反射の出現が見いだされ、Alー(Fe、Ru、Os)ーCuは原子の規則配列を伴った準結晶であることが明らかにされた。
3.溶解した直後のAlー(Fe、Ru、Os)ーCu準結晶には,広い範囲で均質なフェイゾン歪みが現れ、それらが正20面体対称を壊し一方向に周期性をもたらすことが明らかになった。高温で熱処理することにより、フェイゾン歪みは消滅することが見いだされた。
4.AlーCuーTM(TM=遷移金属)系において準結晶および非晶質の生成領域を詳細に研究し、準結晶は価電子濃度e/aが1.6ー1.8の範囲で生成することを見いだした。
5.準結晶の原子配列は、正20面体対称をとる原子集団が単位として、それらがある一定の関係で3次元空間を埋めた構造であることが明らかにし、局所原子構造モデル提出した。
6.AlーFeーCu準結晶はメカニカルグライディングによって非晶質化することを見いだした。
7.AlーMn、AlーFe系において逐次蒸着法で準結晶が生成することを見いだした。
