Research Abstract

本年度は、高度電子不足カルボカチオン系(Ar-C^+(R^1)R^2)としてR^1,R^2=Me,CF_3およびH,CF_3系の気相安定性をイオンサイクロトロン共鳴法を用いたイオン平衡の測定から決定した。両系の無置換体の気相安定性はα-置換基(R^1,R^2)の電子求引性の増大とともに大きく低下し、クミルカチオンに比較してそれぞれ16.2kcal mol^<-1>および19.5kcal mol^<-1>低い安定性を示した。両カチオンの安定性に及ぼすメタ置換基及びパラ-π-電子求引基の効果はα-クミルカチオン系と等しいことが見いだされ、field/inductiveの効果はα-置換基により影響を受けないことがわかった。一方、パラ-π-電子供与基の効果はクミルカチオン系の場合よりも増大していることが明らかになった。これは、高度電子不足カチオン系では-R基の直接共役による陽電荷の共鳴安定化の寄与が増大していることを示唆する。このようなパラ-π-電子供与基の挙動は、LArSR式[log(K/Ko)=ρ(σ°+r△σ^^-R^^+)]に導入した共鳴要求度(r)の概念に完全に一致するものである。事実、両系の置換基効果はLArSR式によって精度よく相関され、クミルカチオン系の1.00より大きいr値(Me,CF_3;1.40、H,CF_3;1.53)が得られた。
更に重要な事実として、気相カチオンのr値は対応するカチオン中間体を介在するとS_N1ソルボリシスのr値に完全に一致する事が見いだされた。このr値の一致は、高度に不活性化されたベンジル系のソルボリシスの置換基効果が本質的に大きいr値で特徴づけられることを示すと同時に、ソルボリシスの遷移状態における電荷の非局在化が中間体イオンの非局在化に等しいことを示唆する。これは、遷移状態の構造が中間体に近く、また遷移状態におけるπ-電子の非局在化の度合が反応座標に沿った遷移状態の位置に無関係に各々の中間体カチオンの構造に固有のものであるという重要な結論に導びく。
