Research Abstract

The progress made under this project is as in the following ;
(1) Coordinated simultaneous observation.
We, Japanese and Chinese observers, have recently completed a network system for the coordinated simultaneous observations. With the use of this system the coordinated observation was made from Aug. 19 to Sep. 2, 1990. The target active region was NOAA 6233.
(2) Cooperative analysis.
Cooperative analysis has just begun. Rather fragmental studies, such as comparison of the Hida H-alpha photos with the Huairou magnetograms, are performed. It is obvious that non-potential magnetic fields are clearly related to active phenomenae on the sun. However, we need more accumulation of the data before predicting when and where the active phenomena occurs in the active region.
(3) Exchange visit program.
The project invited 2 Chinese scientist to the Solar-A Science Meeting in October, 1990, and sent 7 Japanese scientist to the 1st Sino-Japan Seminar on Solar Physics in March, 1991. These two opportunities were invaluable to increase mutual collaborations.
Reports produced by this project will appear in the Proceedings of the two scientific meetings.
