Research Abstract

1.電子物性:正20面体準結晶相(I相)の電気抵抗は質の向上と共に増大し、理想的な準結晶の電気抵抗は数mΩcmと著しく大きな値をもち、その温度依存性や磁気抵抗効果には電子の局在の効果が顕著に現われることを明らかにした。正10角形相(D相)は準周期方向と周期方向で電気伝導に1桁の異方性があることが判った。また、準結晶、近似結晶、アモルファス、液体状態など非周期系の電気伝導を統一的に理解することを試みた。
2.巨視的磁性:AlーPdーMn合金のI相とアモルファス相の磁性を比較した結果、AlーMn系と異なり両者に差が認められた。後者の磁化が前者の値より大きく、その原因は磁気モ-メントは小さいが磁性をもつMn原子が約2倍であることによる。また、この合金系はPdMn希薄合金と同様巨大磁気モ-メントを有することが判った。
3.微視的磁性:AlーMnーSiーRu合金I相および結晶相では、磁気モ-メントの出現やその相互作用には両者に差はないが、NMR測定からAl核位置での伝導電子のスピン偏極に準結晶の電子状態の特徴が現われていることが判った。AlーFeーCu系I相中の ^<57>Feのメスバウア効果を測定した結果、電場勾配の値は分布していてその大きさは準結晶ごとに異なっているが、2次のドップラ-効果から求まるデバイ温度はどの準結晶でも同じ値をもつことが判った。
4.超格子:GaAsーAlAsフィボナッチ超格子におけるキャリアのダイナミカルな挙動について、超格子からの蛍光および片端につけた幅の広いGaAs井戸層からの蛍光を調べることにより、キャリアの移動についての乱れの効果のエネルギ-依存性および温度依存性などを明らかにした。
5.ボロン系:ボロン系結晶の構造を準結晶の近似結晶として解析し、結晶中のB_<12>構造の歪の原因を調べ、ボロン準結晶探索の方針をたてた。
