| Research Abstract |
For the purpose of clarifying the appropriate level of Japanese language proficiency for college-level students from overseas when they are admitted to their respective institution. the following types of research survey wag conducted :
(1) analysis of level-one on the Japanese Language Proficiency Test
(2) students' self assessment of their language acquisition prior to college, and the impact the Proficiency Test gave them at the time of their entrance to college
(3) comparison of the vocabulary in the Proficiency Test and that in the textbooks they use in the first two years in college
(4) analysis of TOEFL-related research done in the USA
(5) survey of students' daily communication activity
