Research Abstract

これまでの[2+2]トポケミカル光反応の挙動のほとんどについては、出発化合物の結晶構造と結晶内での分子の熱運動を考慮することにより合理的に理解されてきた。
混晶からは多くの場合、トポケミカル共重合によってランダムコポリマーが生成することが見出されている。これら混晶は、再結晶によらず、2種の結晶を乳鉢で混合するだけで再結晶によって得られるものと同一の結晶構造を有する光反応性混晶が得られることを見出した。ここで混晶の生成速度のおもな支配因子は、混合粉砕のための攪拌回数,温度,時間,湿度などである。これらについての定量的な実験から、生成する混晶モル分率と攪拌回数,温度,時間との関係を示す実験式(一定温度下での)を誘導した。

ここで、Mは混晶のモル分率,tは2種の結晶を混合した時からの時間,Nは乳鉢中での結晶の粉粋攪拌回数である。
混晶からはコポリマーが得られる場合がほとんどであるが、顕著なトポケミカル重合性を示すDSP結晶とEthyl4-[2-(2-pyrazyl)ethenyl]cinnamate結晶からは光重合性分子錯体が生成することを見出した。この錯体からはコポリマーは生成せず、2種のホモポリマーが1:2に割合で定量的収率で生成する。光照射後に得られるポリマー結晶中では、モノマー分子錯体の結晶構造から、それぞれのホモポリマーからなる単分子層と二分子層の交互層状構造を形成していることがわかる。
このように数々の興味ある新しいトポケミカル挙動が見出された。
