Research Abstract

Main results obtained in this project are following.
1. The testing method for rocks in the post failure region has beer! established as follows. Using the displacement controlled triaxial compression testing system, the rock specimen is kept stable just after the failure. Tests for rocks in the post failure region can be applied to the specimens in this condition.
2. Time dependent behaviors in the 3 dimensional stress state are represented by the tradisional models developed in the uniaxial stress state, using the normalized differential stress and strain.
3. The behavior of rocks in the post failure region can be represent as a continum media to some extent, neglecting the difference of failure mode.
4. The behavior of rocks in the post failure region can be represent by the Burger's Model with the slider.
5. The residual strength of rocks in the post failure region depends on the strain rate also.
6. The creep behavior of rocks in the post failure region can be estimated by Burger's Model with the slider.
