Research Abstract |
A termite fungus, which was growing from the "meule or Comb" of underground nest of Odontotermes formosanus Shiraki, was collected in Ishigaki island, Iriomote island, and Ryukyu island. Pileus 4-10 cm diameter flesh, at first conical with s-Uiniform umbo, expanding to campanulate to finally covex with prominent. pale greyish brown to buffy brown at first, turning paler towards the margine, with expansion craciding, perforatorium remaining dark brown. Stipe 8- 14cm long, 1.0- 1.8 thick, long cylindrical or widening slightly downwards. Sore print pale brown. Spore 7.0 x -4.0 -um. The lignin nitrogen and ash of Comb were investigated. The amount of lignin, nitrogen and ash were 21-33 %, 0.05-3.9 % and 14-19 % respectively. pH of Comb was 4.5-5.0. The nitrogen ash, amino acids and fat of mushroom of Termitomyces(Termitomyces albuminosus(Berk.)Heim)were investigated. The result obtained as follows : The amount of nitogen, ash, amino acids and fat were 2.5-5.0 %, 250 u mol/g, 4.0-6.0 % and 2.0- 5.0 % respectively.
