Research Abstract |
QCT WITH BONE REFARENCE STANDARD HAD GOOD REPRODUCIBILITY TO APPROXIMATELY 0.9% FOR THE PHANTOM IN A SERIAL STUDIES, AND 1.4% FOR THE VERTEBRAL TRABECULAR BONE OF NORMAL VOLUNTEERS AT INTERVAL OF A WEEK.MR I WITH TRIPLE PHASE CONTRAST METHOD WAS ABLE TO MEASURE THE CONTENT OF FAT AND WATER IN THE TRABECULAR BONE SEPARATELY.RESULT OF PHANTOM STUDIES SHOWED THAT THE OPTIMAL TR WAS MORE THAN 1000msec AND TE FROM 45 TO 60msec. ADDITION OF PRESATURATION PLUS IN FRONT OF THE SPINE REDUCED THE ARTIFACT FROM MOVEMENT OF ABDOMINAL WALL AND INTESTINE, AND IMPROVED REPRODUCIBILITY FOR CLINICAL STUDIES IN CONTINUATION.RESULT OF CLINICAL STUDY SHOWED THAT THE OPTIMAL TR WAS MORE THAN 1000msec, TE MORE THAN 40msec, AND FOV FROM 30 TO 42cm, AND OPTIMAL COIL WAS SURFACE COIL.HOWEVER, STUDY FOR VOLUNTEER AT INTERVAL OF A WEEK SHOWED POOR REPRODUCIBILITY TO 6.9%. WE CONCLUDED THAT THE CREECTION WITH MR I USED TRIPLE PHASE CONTRAST METHOD FOR THE EFFECT OF FAT MARROW WAS NOT USEFUL COMPARED WITH DUAL ENERGY QCT.
