Research Abstract

This study has been passed for three years, and this year is the final. This is the report for three years.
1. The case study was designed with five co-operate teachers, each in school for the physically handicapped, who covered "Dohsa-Kunren"(a method for improvement of motor deficit, originated by Dr.Gosaku Naruse) in the curriculum of "Yogo-Kunren"(special program in special education). The object of the case study is to prove the role of "Dohsa -Kunren"in "Yogo-Kunren".
2. Each co-operate teacher reported a case study for 1-3 years, who practiced "Dohsa -Kunren" to 2 physically handicapped children in each school. In 10 children,3 made progress in sitting-position,3 in knee-standing position,2 in walking, and 2 made a little progress.
3. "Yogo-Kunren" urges teachers to lead children in the field of motor development, who belong to school for the physically handicapped. The theory and technique of "Dohsa -Kunren" answers teachers' leading purpose, furthermore it is easy and appropriate to learn and evaluate the progress of children.
4. This study was constructed in four parts: (1) the progress of children, (2) the actual process and role of "Yogo-Kunren" in each school, (3) importance of "Dohsa-Kunren" in "Yogo-Kunren" in each school, and (4) importance and topic for the discussion of "Dohsa -Kunren" in "Yogo-Kunren" in school for the physically handicapped.
