| Research Abstract |
At Grenoble, we have discussed following topics :
A) Characteristics of Mountain Environment
B) Characteristics of Mountain People
C) Land Use in Mountain Area
D) Environment & Development in Mountain Area
For both countries (France & Japan), Conservation or Destruction of Environment are common serious problems to be overcomed. Those results will be published as a special issue of "Revue of Geographic Alpine" in 1992.
At Marseille, we have discussed following topics :
A) Methodology or Way of Thinking on Leisure & Free Time
B) Comparative Case Studies of Resorts in France & Japan
C) Comparative Case Studies of Tourism in France & Japan
Our discussion's focus was not only coastal areas but also Inland areas of both countries. However, evaluations about Leisure or Free Time are completely different, because we have no Vacancy Low in Japan. Under those conditions, it was very difficult for both sides to find a common conclusion. Finally we have decided to publish a full text of discussions in French in 1992.
