Research Abstract |
Study on the construction of database in Industrial Arts Education of lower secondaty school is insufficient, and there still remains a wide unexplored domain. The present research aims at obtaining more fundamental knowledge about this construction of database. This report deals on the results of their survey of the actual situation on the Information Education and the fundamental study. The data was mainly collected on the Information Technology Education. The results are summarized as follows. (1)A questionnaire research on the construction of database in Industrial Arts Education was carried out to the researchers of Education Center in the whole country (222 Centers), and Faculty of Education in University (54 Universities), and teachers of Junior High Schools in the whole country (91 Schools). (2)Four types of databases related to Industrial Arts Education were made by investigators in this project. They are Book-type Database. Floppydisk-type Database, Magneto Optical disk-type Database, and Communication-type Database, then these databases are easy and practical to use. (3)For construction of these databases, many fundamental studies were done by investigators. They are, for example, "Base of Database", "On the Objectives and Contents for Information Technology", "Development, Utilization, and Assessment of the Software for Instruction", etc.. We shall be happy if this research results as a guide for researchers and teachers who intend to take charge of school work duties. At the end, the author would like to express persons who provided related data and assisted in the survey.
