Research Abstract |
1. Induction of plants from ovary slice culture in kiwifruit and related species Ovaries of sarunashi(A.arguta), sampled 5-10 days after pollination, were sliied into disks 1-2mm thick. About 14 days afterin oculation, white seeds were recognized, with 100g/1 sucrose medium. In A.arguta(2n=116) x A.arguta(2n=116), seed were transferred on plantet-inducing medium, which consisted of MS salt supple-men ted with 30g/1 sucrose, 8g/1 agar and zeatin 1.0mg/1. 2. Peroxidase isozyme variations in kiwifruit and related species The usefulness of peroxidase isozyme banding patterns as gene-tic markers in kiwifruit and related species was investigated using isoelectric forcusing. Leaf samples were obtained from four cultivars of kiwifruit(A.delisiosa), six varieties of sarunashi( A.arguta), one variety of matatabi(A.polygama) and one variety of shimasarunashi(A.rufa). There were marked differences in the peroxidase zymogram patterns between A.deliciosa, A.arguta, A.pol-ygama and A.rufa. No difference of zymogram patterns of peroxidase was observed among culitivars of A.deliciosa.
