Research Abstract

国立天文台で建設中の20mファブリベロ-/マイケルソン干渉計形重力波アンテナに必要なレーザー光源を目標に周波数安定化の実験を行ってきたが、本年度の研究で、この目標を達成した。次の課題は、将来のkmクラスの大規模干渉計のために、kW級の量子限界レーザーを開発する基礎を研究することである。このようなことを目標に研究を行い、以下の実績を上げた。
1)320Wの半導体レーザーを駆動し、独自のコンセプトに基づいた仮想点光源クラッド励起方式という拡大可能性の大きな励起方式で、YAGレーザーの発振を計画した。
2)仮想点光源クラッド励起方式の3次元光線追跡シミュレーションによって、励起分布を予測し、光線入射角度を0.3°程度傾けるだけで、コア励起から均一励起まで、自由に励起分布を制御できることを理論的に示した。
3)同時に、LDで励起した場合の励起強度分布を蛍光観測法で観測し、シミュレーション結果と良い一致が得られることを確認した。
4)3次元光線追跡で求めた励起分布に基づき、レーザー結晶内の熱レンズ効果、熱誘起復析効果を計算し、それに基づく共振器設計の最適化を行った。
5)レーザー発振実験を行い、マルチモード発振で、32W以上の出力、スロープ効率41.2%という側面励起では世界最高水準の結果を得た。
6)発振実験から求めた熱錬図工か、熱複屈折効果を考慮して、TEM_<00>モード発振用に共振器を調整し、単一モード発振で、28.2W(ランダム偏光)26.5W(直線偏光)の出力を得た。M2値は1.03で、高出力レーザーでこれまでに観測されたことのないきれいな発振である。
7)ポイティング安定度は20マイクロラジアンとすばらしい結果であった。
8)超低損失モードクリーナー用ミラーを、国内メーカーと共同で開発し、1μm用としては世界で初めて100ppmを切った6ppm損失のミラーの開発、計測に成功した。
9)ロシア科学アカデミー結晶学研究所カミンスキー教授と、固体レーザーの開発に関する共同研究を展開した。
