Research Abstract |
1.Analysis of the present situation : It was concluded that(1)the characteristics of agriculture and the land and water use were built up through the natural and social conditions of each regions and they arose the specific transport of mass and energy in nature. 2.Clarification of the regional characteristics : As measures to improve the land and water use in future, it was pointed out that(1)the arid areas need the construction of facilities for irrigation and drainage, the water conveyance systems and the water application methods for fields, (2)the rainy tropical areas need the physical and chemical soil/soil layr improvement and management, (3)the land which discharge were greatly changed needs the installation of facilities to stabilize the water intake from river, (4)the peat areas in a cold regions need drainage, soil dressing, and deep mixing tillage. 3.Comparison of the attaining stage : It was analyzed that the land reclamation is feasible in future only in the South-america,

Africa and Australia, and there is water resources 10Ttons in the first stage of development and 20Ttons in the second stage. It was pointed out that (1)it is required to analyze the form of water use in detail, and (2)the efficiency of water use strongly depends on a common consent and on a cooperation between water users, between regions and between nations. 4.Simulation of the future situation : It was simulated to to decide the change of point where salt water flows up from sea and to estimate the relations between land degradation and the change of land use using the data of remote-sensing/GIS.It was predicted that the gas emission from agricultural areas can be restrained less than four times of the present level in future through the improved new land reclamation works. 5.Search of the common rules : As conclusion, it was clarified that there are much possible models of the sustainable land use and methods of regional planning for the conservation of global environment, and proposed to develop the Technology of HUUDO,in which there keeps the balance between nature and engineering, between custom and civilization, between agriculture and technology.
