Research Abstract |
ONE OF THE METHODS TO ESTIMATE THE CROSS SECTIONS OF THE SINGLY IONIZED LITHIUM ION TO BECOME MULTIPLY IONIZED STATES IS AS FOLLOWS.A SMALL PART OF HIGH DENSITY LITHIUM ION BEAM PRODUCED BY A HIGH POWER ION DIODE IS EXTRACTED FROM A BEAM SELECTOR WITH ORIFICES AND ENERGY SELECTOR,AND INJECTED INTO HIGH DENSITY PLASMAS PRODUCED BY DIRCHARGE OR LASER LIGHT.AFTER THE INTERACTION BETWEEN THE BEAM AND PLASMA,THE BEAM IS MEASURED BY VARIOUS DIAGNOSTIC METHODS. FROM THE POINT OF VIEW OF PREPARING THE ELMENTALY TECHNIQUE FOR THIS KIND OF RESEARCH,WE TRIED TO MAKE SEVERAL EXPERIMENTS AS FOLLWOS.(1) INSTALLMENT OF A SMALL SCALE APPARATUS TO INVESTIGATE THE BEAM PLASMA INTERACTION.(2) PRODUCTION OF VARIOUS KINDS OF INTENSE ION BEAMS INCLUDING LITHIUM BEAM BY PASSIVE ANODE DIODES OF THE CONVENTIONAL TYPE,(3) TEST OF A SELECTOR FOR RATHER LIGHT ION BEAMS,(4) LASER PRODUCED PLASMAS TO SUPPLY THE ANODE PLASMAS OF THE ACTIVE ANODE DIODES,AND (5) THE CORRESPONDING DIAGNOSTICS. AT FIRST,WE INSTALLED A WHOLE SYSTEM FOR THE BEAM PLASMA INTERACTION EXPERIMENT,AND WE THEN OPERATED THIS SYSTEM.NEXT,WE PRODUCED ION BEAMS FROM A CONVENTIONAL HYDRO-CARBON ANODE,AND A SMALL PART OF CARBON BEAMS WAS EXTRACTED FROM THE BEAM SELECTOR.AS THE MOST PART OF ION BEAMS PRODUCED BY THE PASSIVE ANODE DIODE WAS SINGLY IONIZED IONS,WE CONSIDERED TO USE LASER PRODUCED PLASMAS AS THE ANODE PLASMAS OF THE ACTIVE ANODE DIODES.WE MEASURED THE PLASMAS PRODUCED BY AN E-BEAM PUMPED KrF LASER,WHILE THE CHARACTERISTICS OF A LARGER LASER OF THE SAME TYPE AND ALSO A DISCHARGE-PUMPED KrF LASER WERE INVESTIGATED IN MORE DETAIL.
