Research Abstract |
The purpose of this study is to develop the evaluation system for establishing rational environmental planning using regional environment-related grid-type database (called regional environment database). In the fiscal year 1992, regional environment database were stored in Greater Tokyo, Tokyo Metropolis and the City of Zushi. These data include ready-made database such as national numeric datastore and retailed numeric datastore for Greater Tokyo with additional original dataset. Database management system was developed for promoting database usage. As a result, database arrangement was performed for analyzing such as relationship between land price and environment quality in Greater tokyo, evaluation of the effect of improving urban environment in Tokyo Metropolis, and conservation guideline for residential development in the City of Zushi. In addition, generalized evaluation model for assessing the physical, biological and amenity environment was established by improving ready-made model and developing new model through questionnaire survey to the residents. In the fiscal year 1993, application of system developed in, 1992 to regional environment al planning. As a result of the discussion how to integrate the above-mentioned three aspects of environmental assessment, rader-chart was applied for describing integrated results. Further, method for forecasting and evaluating future environment was developed based on the evaluation model developed in 1992, which forecasts the progress of environmental deterioration and propose the countermeasures to prevent, such deterioration. The estimation of effectiveness of policy option using scenario writing method was also successful. Finally, based on the results obtained in this study and the results already obtained in the previous studies, report was edited and published as a book entitled "Environmental Resources and Information System".
