Research Abstract |
THE EFFECT OF INDUCED HYPERTHERMIA UP TO 43゚C FOR 60MINUTES WITH WARM WATER ON BLOOD VISCOSITY WAS STUDIED BY USING 12JAPANESE MONKEYS. ONE MONKEY WAS DIED BUT ELEVEN WERE ALIVE.UPON REA CHING 43゚C SYSTOLIC AND DLASTOLICBLOODPREASSURE DECREASED., THE BLOOD VISCOSITY UNREMARKABLE CHANGE AS THE BODY TEMPERATURE ROSE TO 43゚C,BUT INCREASED AS BODY TEMPERATURE WAS MAINTAINED FOR 60 MINUTES AT 43゚C AND SIGNIFICANTLY INCREASED WHEN RETURNED THE NORMALLEVEL.THIS BLOODVISCOSITY CORRELATED INTIMATELY WITH HEMATOCRIT ELEVATION.THE EFFECT OF INDUCED HYPERTHERMIA UP TO 38,40 AND 42゚C ON GLUCOSE TOLERANCETEST WAS STUDIED BY USING 8 JAPANESE MONKEYS.THE BODY TEMPERATURE MEASURED WITH THERMOMETERSIN THE ESOPHAGUS.THESE WERE MAINTAINED 38,40 AND 42<plus-minus>0.2゚C.GLUCOSE WAS INFUSED 0.5g/kg AND BLOODGLUCOSE,INSULIN AND C-PEPTIDE WERE MEASURED,BLOODGLUCOSE OF 40゚C GROUP SHOWS HEIGHER THAN 38゚C GROUP.BLOODGUCOSE OF 42゚C GROUP WERE SIGNIFICANT HEIGHER 38゚C GROUP ON THE OTHERHAND,INSULIN LEVEL OF 40゚C GROUP WAS LOWED THAN THAT OF 38゚C GROUP BUT THE LEVEL OF 42゚C GROUP WAS HEIGHER THAN THE LEVEL OF 38゚C GROUP AT 30 MIN.AFTER GLUCOSE INFUSIO THE EFFECT OF INDUCED HYPERTHERMIA UP TO 43゚C FOR 60 MINUTED ON CEREBRO VA SCULAR CIRCULATION AND INTRA CRANIAL PRESSURE WAS STUDIED BY USING 10 MONGREL DOGS.CHANGES IN THE CEREBRO VA SCULAR SYSTEM REVEALED SIGNIFICANT CHANGES IN VBF WERE DETECTED,AND THERE WERE NO SIGNIFICANT CHANGES IN CEREBRAL CORTICAL AND MEDURALBLOODGLOW.NO SIGNIFICANT CHANGES IN CEREBRAL CORTICAL AND MEDURALBLOODGLOW.ICP WAS SIGNIFICANTLY ELEVATED.
