Research Abstract |
In the wall surface of root canal dentine, numerous holls of dentine (one holl = diameter 2um) were observed. Failling instumentaion made the wall rough surface (hight = 2-5um). It found that the root wall could be observed three-dimensionally in high magnification by Atomic Foarce Microscopy. The sealer in zinc-oxide Eugenol(Canals, Rubli-seal)showed high hydrophilicity, close value in calcium hydroxide(CRCS, Sealapex)and hydrophobicity in eugenol(Dentalis KEZ). It showed that hydrophobicity of sealer were different by the composition of this. The chemical elements of O,I,Ba, Zn, Si and Bi were found on the surface of sealer after setting. Ca was not found on the surface, which is one of fundamental composition in sealer, but recognized under 50nm from surface. It was revealed that the chemical composition of sealer is different between surafce and subsurface of sealer.
