Research Abstract |
The purpose of the present study was to investigate the mineral formation effect of He-Ne laser on clonal osteoblastic cells (MC3T3-E1) when the cells were exposed to He-Ne laser with short duration time (3 min. or 5 min.) as cell growth was not enhanced. The following results were obtained. 1. There was no difference in cell morphology observed under microscopy between irradiated cells and unirradiated cells. 2. Cell proliferation was not accelerated by He-Ne laser irradiation at the duration time of 3 minutes as well as 5 minutes. 3. Amount of calcium accumulated in MC3T3-E1 cell culture was increased by He-Ne laser irradiation compared with control.
