Research Abstract |
This research are purposed to make out a prescription norm for improving respiratory function and promoting health codition on children with bronchial asthma by practicing the Kendo. The subjects were six asthmatic boys aged 7 to 12 years(mild 3, moderate 1, severe 2) and non-asthmatic control boy 1. They began the Kendo practice on Jun '92 and now continue to doing practice on March '94. The items of measurement were heart rate(HR), leukocyte(eosinophil, neutrophil, basophil, lymphocyte), immunoglobulin E(IgE), catecholamine(AD, NAD), prostaglandin F2alpha, pulmonary ventilating function(FVC, FEV1.0, PFR), and the subjects exercised on bicycle ergometer with a gradual increase load to measure oxygen uptake, respiratory frequency(f) and HR.And then we could get anaerobic threshold(AT) to calculate oxygen pulse(VO2/HR), exchanging rate of gas(VCO2/VO2), tidal volume(VE/f) when they reached maximal oxygen uptake in all-out state. The result did not show the improvement of FVC, FEV1.0, PFR and IgE(average 845.9 (〕SY.+-.〔) 132.25 IU/ml). After one and half year Kendo practice, they showed the increase of AT, and endured to being twice as intense as HR at the rest time. It seems that the twice of HR at rest time are a prescription norm for children with bronchial asthma and kind of exercise.
