Research Abstract |
One of the main problems for developing the dc polymeric power cabel is the accumulation of space charge in the dielectric, which gives a obvious distortion of the applied electric field and may causes dielectric breakdown. Thererfore, it is nessesary to carry out the measurement of the space charge distribution in the power cable directly, i.e., where and how many the space charge accumulated in the dielectric. During the last ten years or so, we have been making great progress in measurement and under standing the space charge behavior in sheet polyethylene used in dc power cable. As the next step of the further study, our purpose is to develop the PEA method probing the space charge profile in coaxial polymeric crossed-linked polyethylene cable. The main achivements of this research are shown as follows : (1) The measurements of space charge distribution in coaxial polymeric power cables (2) The measurement and analysis of attenuation and dispersion of pulsed acoustic wave. (3) The study of the space charge formation at interfaces of dielectric. (4) Editing a textbook for the space charge measurement in Einglish, Chinese and Korea. The contents of the textbook include the fundamental principle of the space charge measurement, the data estimation and processing of the attenuation and dispersion of acoustic wave, and the cabiration of the space charge density. For the purpose of developing the pulsed electroacoustic (PEA) method, we translated the textbook into three other languages, English, Chinses and Korea, which has been widely used as a manual for the relative reaserch scientists in the world wide.Nowadays, the PEA method has enjoyed considerable interest globally, and many scholars from inside Japan and abroad came to our laboratory to learn the principle of the PEA method. We have appreciated the opportunity to teach them, and to help them develop their own experimental systems.
