Research Abstract

本研究は、マグマ水蒸気爆発を含む蒸気爆発現象を構成する素過程の究明および相互の関連を究明すると共に、素過程の応用を図ることを目的としている。本年度の実績は次のようである。
マグマ水蒸気爆発の素過程については、加藤はマグマが水と接触した際の爆発発生条件、作用の規模、デブリの性状等に関して系統的実験を行い、温度、質量、粘性、接触様式、マグマ成分等の影響を確かめた。小屋口は、マグマの火道での上昇と火山噴煙のモデリングを行い、噴煙観測手法と堆積物から噴火のダイナミクスを推定する方法を開発した。さらに、プリニ-型噴煙のダイナミクスに関するモデルを構築した。
飯田は、圧力波の伝播過程と、蒸気膜の不安定化過程について一連の研究を行い、蒸気膜内には付加圧力値の約1.6乗に比例するピーク圧力が発生することなどを示した。また、層状接触体系での現象の伝播、水へのポリマー添加による蒸気爆発の抑制効果などを確かめた。さらに、自発核生成現象とそれに続く気泡成長・消滅と伝熱過程について詳細な実験を行い、その結果からこのような高速蒸発現象のモデルとして過熱液層蒸発モデルを提案した。
伊藤は、金属粉末製造の内蒸気爆発機構を応用した水アトマイズ法の機構と制御条件解明のため、高速水噴流中での細粒化に関して諸条件の影響を系統的に調べ、100μm以下の粒径の鉄粉末を多量に製造することを可能にする条件を求めた。渡辺は、大型のExploding Wireによって生じた高速渦輪が円筒に添って進む振る舞いと相互作用を実験し、流れの鏡像に関する考察と比較した。また、発生した衝撃波に関して、Burgers方程式の高度近似によって記述する方法を示した。
