| Research Abstract |
Recent development of the neuroscience recording technology including noninvasive recording of the human brain activities, multi-channel recording of neuronal activities, optical recording as well as that of the molecular neuroscience technology including gene-knock out, and drug design technique producing antisense for mRNA,and antagonists or agonists for receptors and second messengers made a direct approach possible to higher brain functions such as perception, learning, memory and behaviors. This project intended to produce a breakthrough in the study of the higher brain functions by theoretical and experimental verification of four major concepts in the neuroscience, 1) Covariance hypothesis, 2) Sparse representation, 3) Forward and inverse problems in perception, 4) Forward and inverse problems in motor controls.
