Research Abstract |
In pursuing objective analysis approaches on scholarly research developments, research and development were made in the following three dimentions A databaase system was designed and developed (A1) under the task of "Construction of a database system on scholarly development process and data analysis (A)". Characteristics of applications, researchers and referee were input into the database to be the core of the analysis, on which a series of software were developed for analyzing the development process and trends of research activities (A3). Operations for maintaining the databases and statistical analysis were carried out (A4). Detabase cumulating function was added (A8). Data analysis methods were further exploited in the second year, and presentation means were devised (A9) . Based on these systems, data analysis was continued (A10). The result is included in the final report. Based on the statistical data collected and created by the task A,under the task B of "Theoretical analysis on the development of scholarly activities, " macro-model approaches were explored for pursuing a minimizing model of research support in parallel to discussion of socio-cultural aspects of scholarly research system (B5). Modeling was continued in the second year (B11) and the result was employed in the statistical processing and presentation of analysis results (A9). Proto-type developments were explored for dissemination systems of research achievements (C6) under the task C "Pursuing methods of information support for contributing the development of scholarly activities." Social demands among university community, technical feasibility were determined of university libraries to offer electronic documents, electronic publishing and other services for enhancing dissemination of research achievements. Electronic processing means of research document as source material in the research information flow were exploited as database creation of research documents (C7).
