Research Abstract |
In this research, we established a methodology for 3-dimensional shape recognition by several distributed and co-operative vision sensors which can move actively and communicate mutually. We constructed experimental system to verify its performances. The main works and results were : (1) Investigation of basic methodology for communication and information exchange in autonomous distributed systems, and development of efficient algorithm to transmit image informations between distributed vision sensors. (2) Development of algorithms to reconstruct object shape by using several movable vision sensors, and optimal allocation and active control of the sensors for the algorithms. (3) Investigation of the optimal pose and movement of the vision sensor to capture good image for the object shape recognition. (4) Investigation for a tracking algorithm of the vision sensor when the object moves freely. (5) Evaluation of obtained image sequences by moving camera for the shape recognition. (6) Summarizing the investigations and evaluating the experimental results as some reports to be published.
