Research Abstract |
In this paper, knowledge on earthquake engineering is analyzed using object-oriented approach in order to use information effectively. A structural analysis system, a geographical information system (GIS), and a wave analysis system are integrated as a single framework. In chapter 1, problems in engineering research and seismic disaster prevention are discussed, and a methodology for object-oriented analysis of the problems and object-oriented construction of the system are proposed. In chapter 2, a complicated problem which consists of various factors is analyzed using object-oriented approach as an example of vibration problems of a structure-soil system.A "system object" is defined as a unit including data and analysis method, and a total system is presented using collection of "system objects". e dimention of time into the static problem. In chapter 4, at first, a GIS is constructed with object-oriented approach for the effective use of information on seismic disaster prevention. Development methodology of urban seismic disaster prevention information integration system is presented, the system named "Jmap" is constructed on the base of this methodology, and usefulness of this system is demonstrated. Next, as an example of construction of a micro area information system, a vibration analysis system for a group of facilities using GIS is constructed on Higashiyama Campus of Nagoya University. In chapter 5, as a conclusion, usefulness of object-oriented approach to various problems is discussed. By applying object-oriented approach to various problems such as an earthquake response problem, a structural analysis problem, a wave analysis problem, and a disaster prevention problem, each system corresponding to each problem can be integrated as a single system and extended as a knowledge system.
