Research Abstract |
In 1993, the watershed, where Nozaki dam is located, was investigated and site of the dam as wellas 36 locations where are favorable to construction of torrent intake project were selected. The geographical features and hydrologic coefficients of torrent at each located point were also measurerd and recorded. In 1994, on the basis the above investigations, two rain gauges and four triangular weirs were insland in order to calculate ability of torrent intake. But the relationship of rainfall and runoff was not compiled, because of a drought in 1994, in which annual precipitation rainfall was 778 mm, only 44% of mean 1750 mm. So the projects planed for 1994 were continued in 1995. Results of above research show that it is possible to store 860,000 m^3 of torrent as water resources every year in the investigated watershed. In this year, the constructional scale and draft of each torrent intake will be designedand modeled.
