Research Abstract |
1) Parallel molecular dynamics computations for tackling the large scale problems were carried out. The parallelization was realized by the message passing library PVM based on the concept of spatial decomposition. The cluster computing using 4 workstations attained the parallel efficiency of 90%. It was found out that using Cray T3D,1 million atom problem can be computed. 2) Micro defects in the model alloy exposed to the ion radiation were observed by the low-speed positron beam. Micro-structure changes related to the hardening were investigated. Molecular dynamics computations by the MOLDY-CASK,which employs the EAM potential, were performed. 3) To construct the fundamental data for the molecular dynamics computations, the atomic potential library and its work bench were designed. Those information is scheduled to load onto the WWW server. Atom cluster computations based on the TBA approximation were carried out.
