| Research Abstract |
(1) as the final stage of the study of last three years, following works were carried out and the report was made.
(2) A draft paper titled a dynamic forest register system which was submitted to the Journal of Japanese Forestry Society, and the forest environment maps which were part of the paper were produced. This system was applied at the experiment forest Kusaki of Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology. Following maps were produced using a geographic information system GIS.
Compartment-subcompartment map, Terrain index map, road-distance map, tree spieces map, tree-aged map, forest-type map, stem-volume map, diameter map, harvest priority map, forest function map, elevation map,
(3) Transition maps from natural forest to plantation were produced by the GIS.The text field was Kiso national forest in Nagano. In the period of 90 years between 1900 and 1990, natural forests were haruested and then changed to the plantations. these transition maps were produced by the interval of 20 years. The maps of harvested compartment in each ten years were produced
(4)The forest environment atlas was compiled using these maps.
