Research Abstract |
We conducted an epidemiological survey on an estimation of biological aging, based on the subjects of mass health examination in 1,352 population living in methyl-mercury polluted area at the northern part of Minamata, Japan. The hypothesis that methyl-mercury digestion may accelerates natural aging on man have never been provided suggestive support. Five measures (FEV1, serum total cholesterol and LDH,fundus photography and audiogram H (6kH_Z+8kH_Z) /2) were represented by polynomials of whatever degree maximized the correlation with age, and the calaulated values for each individual were combined into a lineal estimate in relation to chronological age. Biological age calculated by the multiple regression analysis based on five measures are that these data also may fail to suggest any relationship between methyl mercury dose and the indicator of age.
