Research Abstract |
MONOCLONAL ANTIBODY WAS LABELED WITH ^<131>I OR ^<111>In. THE SENSITIVITY OF ^<111>In WAS BETTER THAN THAT OF ^<131>I,THOUGH NON SPECIFIC ACCUMULATION OF LABELED ANTIBODY WAS HIGHER IN ^<111>In LABELED ANTIBODY.METASTATIC LESION OF COLON CANCER WAS DETECTED BY INTRAOPERATIVE SURVEY USING MINI-PROBE FOR GAMMA-RAY DETECTION.BUT THE SENSITIVITY WAS NOT SATISFACTORY IN CASE OF SMALL METASTASIS.HISTOLOGICAL AUTORADIOGRAPHY SHOWED SELECTIVE ACCUMULATION OF LABELED ANTIBODY TO CANCER TISSUE AND NON-SPECIFIC DISTRIBUTION TO NORMAL MUCOSA WAS MINIMUM.CLINICAL DATA SHOWED THAT 5mCi OF LABELED ANTIBODY WAS ENOUGH TO DETECT METASTATIC LE-SION.AND SCANNING AT 48 HOURS AFTER ADMINISTRATION OF LABELED ANTIBODY SHOWED BEST IMAGE OF CANCER LESION.RADIOIMMUNOGUIDED SURGERY WAS USUEFUL INCASE OF DECIDING THE LIMIT OF EXCISION TUMOR.FROM THESE RESULTS,IMMUNO-GUIDED SURGERY USING RADIOLABELED MONOCLONAL ANTIBODY SEEMED TO BE PROMISING METHOD FOR CANCER SURGERY.
