Research Abstract |
Recently the buildings and the structures tend to become taller and larger, however it becomes difficult to keep sufficient stiffness in the context of structural design. Therefore the wind resistant concept is urgently required for the structural safety to the extreme dynamic loading. Although the maximum wind speed for the wind resistant design usually occurs in the case of the typhoon attack in Japan, the aerodynamic nonlinear behaviors of tall buildings and large structures remain unknown under the special conditions that very fluctuating forces are acting due to the typhoon. Here we propose the numerical technique for the analysis of turbulent flows of strong wind like a typhoon. The method is established for the prediction of the wind loading and the response of the tall buildings and large structures.
