Research Abstract |
We made up-cut rotary with two axles (abbreviation ; two axles rotary) for increasing soil-overturning by rotary tillage. In this experiment, the soil overturning and clod size distribution by two axles rotary tillage were investigated. At the same time, we examined the performance of a conventional up-cut rotary. So we can be discussed the comparison of both rotary. The main results were as follows. (1) The mean weight diameter of clod size distribution by two axles rotary tillage was smaller than one of a conventional rotary tillage. This result suggests that the tillage by two axles rotary make pulverization of many times than conventional rotary. (2) The effects of rake rod space and rotational speed ratio of front-rear rotary on soil-overturning were not observed because the clod size was smaller than forecast. (3) The soil displacement ratio from surface layr to lower layr after tillage was 12% in the conventional rotary tillage. On the contrary, its value of two axles rotary was the range of 28.3-36.3%. Therefore, it is assumed that two axles rotary was more useful than a conventional rotary in the soil-overturning properties. (4) The specific torque of two axles rotary showed the values ranging from 0.242to0.329_N・m/cm^2 at upland field experiment.
