Research Abstract |
The aim of this investigation is to develop the ideal target volume, having the highest dose in the 3D calculated tumor itself but less dose in the surrounding tissues. That is conformation radiotherapy. After the theoretical study, using the 26 pairs of over-ride type multi-leaf collimators attached to the mouth of X-ray linear accelerator as a hard-ware, this conformation radio-therapy unit has a good capability to produce the 3D target volume by means of optimized soft-ware in the cases of any pre-set gantry angles and dose to the patients with a personal computer. Thus, the newly developed concave shaped dose distribution is made it possible to irradiate the more practical target volume. Another device in this investigation includes the realization of beam's eye view automatically from the input on the CT images for the desired target and the success of complete computer-control of the collimators.
