(1) Biological terms were picked up and listed from Japanese textbooks of "Science" and "Biology" published in 1948-1984.
A data-base on biological terms in the textbooks were made.
(2) The followings were described and discussed ;
-Why and how were BSCS project established in U.S.A.?
-What was the rationale of BSCS project?
-What was the characteristic of BSCS textbooks?
(3) The followings were discussed ;
-Influence of BSCS on the contents of biology textbooks in Japan.
-Influence of BSCS on revision of the national Course of Study in Japan.
