Research Abstract |
The telecomputing through personal computers is increasing it's role as a tool for active participation in the society and the greater attention has been paid on it even in a field of special education. It, however, is a fact that various "Psychological barrier" exists in the use of telecomputing as a communication media. A form of questionnaires on the theme has been sent to the teacher involved in a special education, for the purpose of surveying the extent and degree of present state of practise, the aims of utilization and the anxiety towards the use of telecomputing. The findings of the survey are as follows ; percentage of teachers who are engaged in the practise of telecomputing is relatively low. A majority of teachers are in the belief that the telecomputing will inevitably be introduced to the school in the near future. Necessity to guide the teachers, though, for the use of the telecomputing in the education of handicapped children are well recognized because of increasing role of telecomputing as a means of communications. Relative high of the anxiety towards the telecomputing is indicated amoung the group, non-user of the communication tool. In addition, the problems in promotion of the educational use of the telecomputing in a special education are analyzed and the further strategy for countermeasures are discussed. Constructivistic curriculum which utilized the telecomputing in a special education is proposed in this study and the its effectiveness is discussed.
