Research Abstract

1.development and Evaluation of Research Method
Research method for qualitative research on educational uses of computers were developed which includes observation, interviewing, recording, coding, analysis, code-word list, formation of favorable relationship with observed schools and tools for observation and analysis.
In order to evaluate the method, code-words which are most important tool for the method was minutely analyzed both qualitatively and quantitatively.
2.Acquirement of some Knowledge by Application of the Research Method
Some knowledge are acquired by application of this method to abstracting proper characteristics of computer-classes. Problems and effectiveness of the method were known by that.
3.Additional Results
Compilation of observation records and code-words, discussion with American and Canadian qualitative researchers, starting up an electronic mailing list for qualitative researchers and formation of researchers'group, and expansion of observation field (schools).
4.Publishing, Exchange, and Response
These results were published as articles of society journals, research journals, and bulletins. And presentations were made at related conferences. Especially responses at the panel-discussion of The 11th Conference on Educational Technology will be reflected on future development of this research.
