Research Abstract |
It was revealed that epidemiological differences between Moyamoya disease observed in Japan and Moyamoya disease and/or Moyamoya-like disease in the People's Republic of China were very much due to the differences in socioeconomic circumstances in both countries and that it was difficult to compare the differences just from medical point of view. We ocmpared, therefore, the objective angiographical findings among Moyamoya disease in Japan, so-called Moyamoya disease in Beijing and Moyamoya syndrome in Wuhan and concluded that they were identical angiographically. We, thus, hypothetically concluded that Moyamoya disease in Japan, so-called Moyamoya disease in Beijing and Moyamoya syndrome in Wuhan were on the same line of a disease entity and that the primary arterial lesion observed in these diseases seemed to be due to hereditary factors, ex-trinsic factors and anatominco-rheological factors. Hereditary factors seems to take more part in Moyamoya disease in Japan and extrinsic factors of leptospiral angitis seems to take more part in Moyamoya syndrome in Wuhan in the development of primary arterial lesion observed in those diseases.
