| Research Abstract |
The materials related japanese Colonial Taiwan under the Taiwan Government General (TGG) were discovered at Japanese Section of Asian Division at Library of Congress (LC) in the United States in 1992 by a researcher of Taiwan Normal University. Taiwan has been asking LC to return the materials to them. It is expecte that to study the materials will be very hard for Japanese if these materials are returned to Taiwan.
We made a plan to study these materials and proposed a joint research project with LC under a grant-in-aid for scientific research supported by Ministry of Education, Science, Sports, and Culture.
Goals of research are as follows ;
1. Preparation of microfilms of documents related education, culture, and community in the materials.
2. Duplication of documents by photocopy as much as we can.
3. Preparation of bibliography of all the materials.
4. Analyzes and study of documents.
We visited LC in 1994 and 1995 to study the materials and to make datebase for preparation of bibliography. Librarians of LC visited Japan in 1994 to discuss about our research. We asked an American researcher to join our project of help analyzes of contents of documents.
6 reels of total 409 feets microfilm of 75 documents related education, culture, and community were prepared. Bibliography of all the materials was prepared as a final report of the project, "Education for Era of the Taiwan Government General-Preparation of under the Taiwan Government General-." Results of content analyzes of documents will be published as scientific papers one by one.
