Research Abstract

光反応は、化学の基礎から応用まで、ほぼ全領域に関連し、また、地球環境、光合成、半導体プロセス、機能材料、レーザー医学など学際的な点からも興味を持たれている。光反応は励起分子の特性のみによって決まるものではなく、励起分子とそれを取り囲む環境場との複雑な関わり合いのもとに進む。我々は、レーザーを初めとする実験技術の進歩により、励起分子と環境場の関わり合いを、分子レベルで認識できる段階にきたものと判断し、励起分子をとりまく環境場を視野に入れて、複雑な光反応を支配する要因を解明し、それを制御することを目指して、平成6年度より3年間にわたって重点領域研究「光反応ダイナミックス-環境場制御による新展開-」を推進してきた。具体的には
(1)光反応ダイナミックスを制御する環境因子は何か?
(2)如何にして分子レベルで環境場を構築するか?
(3)構築された環境場を用いて如何にして、新しい光反応を発現させるか?
と云う課題の解明を目標とした。
平成9年度は、平成6年度から8年度にわたって行われた研究成果のとりまとめを行い、3年間の研究成果の報告書を作成した。3年間で本領域の班員が学術論文誌に発表した論文数は1,648報に達し、その99%以上が英文論文である。個人ベースで見ても3年間で1人当たり16報の論文を発表したことになる。特に注目すべき点は、1人当たり平均発表論文数で見たとき、平成6年度は4.6報であったものが、最終年度の平成8年度には6.4報と約1.4倍に増加している。これらの成果をもとに、本課題に参加して研究を進めた134名全員の成果を英文を含めて集大成し、研究成報告書を作成した。報告書は評価委員を含めた141名の班員に配布すると共に、国内外の主だった光化学者にも配布した。
