Research Abstract

未分化造血細胞の増殖に必須のMybは一群の遺伝子の転写を活性化する。標的遺伝子のひとつであるmim-1遺伝子の活性化にはMybと別の転写因子NF-IL6(C/EBPβ)が協調して作用する必要がある。私達はMybとDNA複合体の立体構造を決定し、MybのDNA結合ドメインの表面に疎水性領域が存在し、この領域を介してMybはNF-IL6と相互作用することを明らかにした。このように造血細胞増殖に関与する転写因子間の相互作用が原子レベルで理解されるようになってきた。
