Research Abstract |
1. Chemical and isotropic systematics at the Satsunan coastal hydrothermal system, was clarified as an analogue of back-arc ocean-floor hydrothermal system. 2.33 alteration minerals in Sumikawa active geothermal system, were identified, some of which revealed that hydrothermal alteration by present hydrothermal circulation was distinguished from thermal metamorphism by granitic rocks. 3. Thermal metamorphism and 3 kinds of hydrothermal alteration including caldera-type zeolitization in Sanzu River caldera, were confirmed. 4.3 stages (middle Miocene, late Miocene and post-Pliocene) of geothermal activity in Shakotan-Toya area, were disclosed, based on K-Ar age determination. 5. Hydrothermal vicissitudes in Chugoku region from late Cretacious to paleogene time were brought out. 6. Mechanism of illitization and chloritization of smectite was pointed out, based on TEM and HRTEM observation of interstratified minerals.
