Research Abstract |
The research of the final year was conducted by five teams, namely ; 1) Environment and resources (green and water ecology, amenity etc) , 2) Socio-economic structure (effects of regional socio-economic structure on land-use ordering) , 3) Infrastructure (effects of agricultural and living/public infrastructure allocation to land-use ordering) , 4) Spatial structure (general structure of land use in rural area including non-agricultural land) , and 5) Institutional setting (role of legal systems in land-use ordering) . Results of these studies were systematically integrated into a report consisting of two parts ; "National Land and Rural Villages toward 21st Century" (Part 1) and "Land-use Planning" (Part 2) . In Part 1, perspectives on rural areas are discussed based on above five themes, and case studies for reordering rural land-use are introduced. In Part 2, systematic approaches for land-use planning are discussed considering proper land-use ordering in rural areas toward the age of global environment. As a whole, the research clarifies rural land-use structure through fundamental aspects, and gives general perspectives on its proper ordering.
