| Research Abstract |
(1) Making Text Database
We made spoken Japanese databese about 500 thousand records from the transcription data of a colummns of Chikuma Shobo's "Gengo Seikatsu" magazine. And developed searching programs for the database. These programs are open to public after we get copyright permission from the original publisher.
Also we made text tatabase of Yukichi Fukuzawa's "Bunmei-ron no Gairyaku." This will be published as an index book.
(2) Making Use Database of Japanese
We made use database of modern Japanese from the books below. All of the databases will be open to public after we get copyright permission from the original publisher.

"A DESCRIPTIVE STUDY ON THE MEANIG AND USES OF JAPANESE VERBS"(1972)

Above 3 books were published from The National Language Research Institute.
Gengogaku Kenkyuu-kai's "Nihongo Bunpou ; Rengo-ron (Siryou-hen)" (1983)
(3) Language Processign of Novels from Meiji and Taisho Era.
An Analysis by JUMAN system is tested to the old writing system text.
(4) Making Machine Readable Dictionary form "Bunrui Goihyo"
We published two volume book "A Classified Vocabulary Table by "Bunrui Goihyo" forms (extended version)." The book contains about 87 thousand words. Floppy disk version of the book is also availabe as an academic monitor purpose.
(5) Development of MCL
We developed program libray MCL for Japanese word count is obtained from the next site. http : //www.kokken.go.jp/nakano
(6) Meeting
We held a meeting each year. The themes are "The Relationshhip between Study of Japanese Langage and Japanese Language Processing, " "Corpus Linguistics, " "Language Study and Language Processing --methodology of study Japanese language--"
(7) Report
We published "Study of Japanese Language and Japanese Language Processing" as a report of this research program.
